Last night the Farmington Valley Chorale performed Franz Joseph Haydn's The Creation. And, y'know what? It was wicked intense.

I was a soprano. Front row, right side. I kept nearly dropping things on the clarinetists, but I quite enjoyed being that close to the timpani. (Our timpanist was probably the most meticulous I have ever seen a man with his instrument.) The violins chirped, the violas sang, and the double bass bellowed in a way that made me melt. In short, I LOVE being on that side of the orchestra.

I want to do it again.

But for the most part, this season is over. Poo.

When we first got on stage I was so pumped I thought I was going to puke, or fall into Alan, the clarinetist's, lap (their chairs were labeled).

Tomorrow I want to see if I can join some of the other choir members in singing the piece at the McLean home. It's all just a matter of getting a ride there. I so hope I can make it. What I would give to relive last night.

In fact, I need to make it. This chorale thing is becoming my drug. But tomorrow, whether or not I'm there, speeds the ending of the spring season upon me. The choir won't start practicing for the Christmas concert until some time in the summer. Then I will be working in New York, or possibly already in Arizona buckling down for college.

Make a mental note to check if their are any similar chorales in the Yuma area.

But all hope is not lost!!!! At the concert last night, a fellow soprano introduced me to her son's violin teacher. I've had a Meisel for about three years now and have been dying to play it. She charges only $25 a lesson. This could be the answer to my prayers!
